Quillback Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 It was a tough day, I fished from 0730 to 1230 and only caught one decent spot - that fish came on a tube fished about 15 feet deep off a chunk rock bank. Had a few bites early on a creature up shallow near some running water and one bite on the buzzer. Early in the afternoon, got desperate and started fishing a whacky rigged Senko on some docks sitting over deep water - caught several nice spots pitching it back into the stalls and off the stall ends. Fished it weightless and let it slowly sink, bites would come usually after it sunk 5 - 10 feet. Wished I had found this bite earlier as I believe if a person stuck to fishing docks over deep water, you could catch a few. Water temp 67
Champ188 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Good job of staying after them and figuring something out. Of all the things I love about The Rock, none are greater than the fact that there is ALWAYS a way to catch them. The only possible exception is when the water temp gets down into the mid-30s. Again, nice job. Glad you found that coz I'm taking a forum guest Friday and I figure with bluebird skies already in the forecast and probably light winds too, we may have to work for 'em.
fishingaddiction Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Wacky rigged Senko! Way to go QB that's the way to adjust and go with the cards you're dealt. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
J-Doc Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Kudos to you for stumbling on to a pattern. Never my strong point. Maybe I need Champ to show me "The Rock". I've only fished it once and it was brutal to me. I just don't have patience for the Ned. Lol Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
