It could be a High Scoring affair if the D-lines don't show up 42 / 35 Arkansas but if the D-lines show up a very low scoring game 17 / 12 Arkansas. I just feel Arkansas wins as there is a lot of pressure on Missouri.

Arkansas may win, but I don't think it will have anyting to do with the pressure if that happens. This team is used to it, has basically felt they needed to win every game since that Georgia debacle to have a chance at getting to Atlanta. Against UT, they faced the exact same situation, where a loss would eliminate them. And those on the team last year had several must-win games at the end of the season then as well.

This is a pretty comfortable, familiar position for Mizzou. It doesn't mean they win, but I don't worry about nerves getting in the way. Gary Pinkel is too good of a coach for that, and it's not like it's the first time we've been here. It could even work in the other direction. Arkansas has already exceeded expectations this season with two huge wins and bowl eligibility. You wonder how much they still have on the line at this point, while Mizzou has everything to play for.

Yeah totally agree OTF, I was rooting for Arkansas Saturday so they could become bowl eligible and wouldn't have to play for that against Mizzou. And Mizzou has been through the pressure games before.

But the thing that worries me is how Mizzou plays at home versus their play on the road. For whatever reason they seem to be more focused on the road. Maybe there have more distractions when they are at home. If they lose this game maybe Pinkle should have them start staying at a hotel in Jeff city the Friday before home games next year.

That's when teams get dangerous, when they have nothing to lose.

True words there...... Or when they can spoil something for another team.

Either that, or you can come out "hungover" from unexpected success and start out flat. I have no idea which it will be on Friday. It can go either way.

Whatever happens, I hope our football team doesn't take any ideas from Mizzou basketball. They are doing some awful, awful things against Purdue right now.

Arkansas is HUNGRY right now, Bert wants to eat Mizzou for lunch.

Both special teams are sub par, thats a wash

If you are talking about kicking field goals and extra points then sub-par is a reach for Mizzou. They're just down right awful at that. But their return game is dangerous with Murphy.

We have our own kicking issues & zero return game.

Mizzou is pretty healthy right now. As for special teams, their kicking issues are probably as bad as Arkie's, but Baggett once in a while gets locked in and actually performs well. Brinser has been mostly very good on punts all year, but had bad luck last weekend with punts hitting the turf and stopping dead or bouncing backward, even a rugby style kick he did out of their own end zone. His rugby kicks usually bounce a long way downfield but this one just took a little barely forward hop and then rolled backward. As for the return game, Murphy is dangerous as long as the blockers don't do their usual obvious blocks in the back. So overall I'd give Mizzou an edge there.

Sounds a bit like Mangino from 2007. Hoping for similar results!

I actually watched Bert's press conference this week. All 30 min. I kinda like the guy...seems like a good fit.
