Justin92297 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I'm heading to bass pro tomorrow to pick up some fly fishing and tying supplies. Need to know which fly patterns work best at Busch or any of the stocked trout lakes in the area. Thanks!
Members HeWhoFishesSolo Posted November 13, 2014 Members Posted November 13, 2014 Justin you should check out Bull's Eye Bait and Tackle in Ofallon Missouri sometime, not sure about fliyrod stuff, but its a great store and great people. (Sounds like you may be over that way)
Amery Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I'd fish a micro jig. Probably white or ginger. Maybe a y2k?
Justin92297 Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Awesome I'll check it out sometime. And thanks I' will definitely try that
Members HeWhoFishesSolo Posted November 13, 2014 Members Posted November 13, 2014 Justin its been years, but if i recall its called Dardenne Creek?? That comes off one of the larger lakes there at BWL, that creek has some massive crappie in it, .. Its work walking that creek, but it is very rewarding, now should be a good time to hit the larger pools for crappie while the weeds are all died off etc. nice bass too.
Members HeWhoFishesSolo Posted November 13, 2014 Members Posted November 13, 2014 One year after a heavy rainfall spring the same creek flooded the fields there near that large lake that is no fishing/ waterfowl refuge,.. There was a tiny pocket of water at a culvert where water had pooled up temporarily. We must have pulled 15lbs of crappie from that nothing hole that was about the size of a 16' trailer. We still look back on that fondly.
