Members Mac's Orphan Posted November 19, 2014 Members Posted November 19, 2014 I've never fished the North Fork so am seeking the knowledge of all your guys who frequent the river. Is it possible (legal) to leave a truck parked somewhere at Kelly Ford for the day while drifting the river to fish? Don't mean camping or overnight - just for the day while on the river. I know this may sound strange to most of you guys, but I've never been there so don't know what may or may not be allowed. Thanks in advance... If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself...
sean c Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 You can leave your truck there I have never had any problems just make sure you do your best to park it out of the way it's tight back there.

Thanks so much, sean c. Very much appreciated. I know this is a public access, but didn't know if we could leave a vehicle parked for an extended period. fishinwrench Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Never seen a public access with a parking meter. LOL I wouldn't mention it too loud though, I'm sure they just haven't thought of it yet.
ness Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I don't think it's a 'public access' as much as it's a tolerant landowner. John

Considering the attitude, lack of accountability and recklessness of some people, that's pretty remarkable!! Thanks guys!! Justin Spencer Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I don't think it's a 'public access' as much as it's a tolerant landowner.actually I think it is just the dead end of a county road, knowing the land that butts up to it I doubt they would permit access, but who knows "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
Gavin Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 It would be easier to call Sunburst for a shuttle. It's about a 6 mile float from Kelly down to their place.

Do you think they would be open to taking us up there at about 4 - 4:30AM We are what one might call - "morning people"... If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself...
