JohnP Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Not near the movement of birds we thought we'd see this morning with the cold front that pushed thru but the boy and I still managed to scratch out a few. Had our shot at 2 limits of birds but that was about it and our superb shooting skills were holding us back . Sat in one cove and after missing our chance at 6 gaddies at about 7am had a lone greenhead come into the spread perfect feet down and back pedaling before the boy had him floating on his back. About a half hour or so later had 3 greenheads come in and give us a fly by and headed to the main channel, gave em a comeback call and that was all it took, U turn and locked right into the spread. 5 shots 2 birds down, just couldn't connect on the 3rd. Sat there for another 2 hours in the sleet and freezing rain and not another bird. Decided to pack it up and check another cove and as we pulled into it about 30 gaddies were setting in it. Decided to throw out a dozen dekes and see if they would filter back in. Sat for an hour and a half and in that time seen only 5 gaddies and one greenhead and managed to only drop one gaddie. Called it a day about 1. Had a good time regardless of the sleet, freezing rain, and few birds.
