MOsmallies Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Looks like Yamamoto is trying to get a share of the Ned Rig market.... http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yamamoto_3_Fat_Senko_10pk/descpage-YMFS3.html
Ham Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 ehhhhh I'm pretty sure that version of the Senko has been around a while. The Senkos will work, but man you would be re-rigging all the time Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
dtrs5kprs Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Yep. That one has been in the catalog for years. Also available as an injection mold. The GYCB stuff just shreds, and does not even come close in terms of getting bites vs elaztech.
Gavin Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Z-man baits are better for that rig. Need the gel super glue to attach the rubber to the jig head. Baits slide too much without. My 5 & 7 year old daughters had Ned's with weed guards on all year long. They did well. Maybe 50 fish between both on 4-5 trips. Not bad for kids who fish for a half hour max.
Gavin Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 They did not lose many either. 2-3 to snags, 1-2 to trees.

I like GY Senkos, just wish they were more durable.
Ham Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I don't think any other plastic gets bitten better than the GYCB plastic, but it is so fragile. I will not EVER buy any more GYCB grubs. I will use up what I have, but I can stand the constant re-rigging. I have a large amount of brand name Senkos. I need to find ways to use them up here. They were a springtime staple for me down south. Maybe on a shaky head or if I get back to Stockton in the spring. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Might try them on a 1/16oz shakey head for dropping into cedars, along bluffs, or around docks. Makes them slow spiral like the old finesse gitzit heads. That fat senkos is exactly the right size, but no way to justify the cost or lack of action vs the elaztech baits. Until the showed up at TW they were also hard to find.
