I went down in December and there were tons of trout in there and the river below! They were taking wooly and white thread jigs on fly rod and. Orange and olive or Brown jigs on spin gear.

He told me I could not fish a jig after the last bridge, so what the hick can you fish with?

What kind of jig a

was he talking about? Marabou jigs, rabbit fur jigs, thread jigs, egg patterns tied on jigheads, and everything short of a plastic grub on a jighead is definitely a legal "fly".

I think maybe, he was referring to the winter regs. As best as I can recall, the short section of creek, downstream of the lower bridge to the river,is off limits this time of year. That section is still in the park but off limits to winter fishing.

I was fishing a 1/8oz jig with a slab buster, pretty much a grub. I talked to Larry several weeks ago and he said after the bridge, you can fish but it is catch and release all the way to the posts at the river. Even park maintenance said same thing. He said my jig was a no go.said he was giving me a warning took my license ran my name along with my fishing license.but failed to give me a warning on paper. I doubt ill go back cause I do not like to be harassed, especially when my kids are there.
