I am a very amateur fisherman. Could anyone give me some advice on where to camp on buffalo river that has decent fishing. I am interested in the spots that are free to camp. Most are free this time of year except for Tyler bend. Also, advice on lures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Humbleman21, you do not mention if you have waders, nor what part of the River you are near. I have enjoyed good fishing in several areas. Eribe, Ozark, Pruitt have good access and good fishing. A ned rig is great, a small grub or jig works well. Do a search of the forum on ned rig and you will find lots of info. Tight Lines

No sir, I do not have waders and unfortunately I can't afford any at this time. Thank you for the information. I am new to the world of fishing and wasn't taught growing up.

You'll be a lot more successful once the water warms up next spring. Keep in mind that the walk in water gets many times more fishing pressure than sections of the river between accesses offer better opportunities.

Good Luck! Don't get discouraged if you don't catch a lot at first. I don't fish the Buffalo when water is this cold.

If you are new to fishing I would recommend starting with cold water species now, trout. If the buffalo is close, then your probably close to the white river also. You'll have more success and probably not get discouraged. Are you planning on keeping fish or catch and release?
