Chief Grey Bear Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Yeah we don't need that. Plus you would have to set Chief's limit to about 50 bazillion. I thought the same thing. But isn't it unlimited as to how many people dislike your post? Just you can only dislike the post once. Right?? ness 1 Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 16, 2014 Author Root Admin Posted December 16, 2014 Can't like your own post... sorry. To "unlike" is to reverse the "like" vote. Carry on... ness 1
gramps50 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I'm a guest here, it's not my place to say you can't earn a few shekels . That's true Norm but some places there's more ad than content and the ads popup in your face while you're trying to read the content. Nothing pisses me off more than to be reading an article and a friggin ad pops up in your face and you have to click on it to continue reading. I normally block those places by clicking away and not returning. That is not the case here, the ads are there and for the most part about fishing. I do t find the ads here obtrusive at all. I do click on them from time to time and if I want to shop at one of the advertisers I will try and remember to start my shopping journey here. ness 1
ness Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Yeah, there are forums that have ads between posts too. Bugs the crap outta me, so I usually don't go back. John
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 16, 2014 Author Root Admin Posted December 16, 2014 Depending on the forum and the traffic it gets, it takes a LOT of traffic to make google ads pay anything, and again, depending on the site, there are expenses. I pay 2 companies hosting fees (one for the forum and one for the main site), domain fees and support fees for this site. After that, I do make a little money but I try to do things with that money like OA decals, functions and sponsoring events. I also advertise OA a little. ness 1
rainbow Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I don't know how to block ads so they show up. At least on this site they are in the headings and not overlaying the copy in the post like some I have seen. Maybe it will help pay this rent on this place if we have a few of them. Other sites where they are a pain and in the threads I figured out how to block them. the like function is good to have. ness 1

jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 As usual, we started with ad blocking and rambled off on something completely different. ness 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
