Terrierman Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 1. Fly fishing NFOW from a drift boat. 2. Set lines on Missouri River for flatheads - dark of the moon in June. 3. Blue catfish on Osage river near Taberville with live bait on the third rise in the spring. 4. Three day float and camping on upper Jacks Fork in the spring. 5. White Bass run on James. 6. Crappie during the spawn on Stockton. 7. Hybrids / white bass on Truman when they are chasing on the flats 8. Float and wade fishing for Smallies and Goggle eye on one of my local favorites 9. Taneycomo when the shad are going through the dam 10. Hitting a really good private pond for bass on spinner baits or topwater baits. There. Back on track. BTW this bucket list is for the rest of you guys. Been there and done that. Don't have the t-shirt though.
countryred Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Thanks guys for the ideas, keep them coming...I used to fish 50-75 days a year minimum , now I just try to .cram a few good trip in per season.
Riverwhy Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 1. Lake Norfork striper fishing 2. Flyfishing at Kelly Shoal 3. Wading and limb lining the north end of Platte River 4. Spoonbill snagging below Warsaw 5. Goggle eye fishing in the winter in big springs 6. Walleye fishing at the Pothole 7. Hybrid fishing at Truman 8. Jigging up sauger on the Mississippi 9. Float and camp from Bertha to Tecumseh 10. Drift for big blues on LOZ I could list so many more. Missouri has so many options.
rps Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 My list is short because most of what I dream about, I have done. I would like to night fish the Pothole for giant walleye pre-spawn. I would like to learn how to target giant bass on a jerk bait in TR. Both are unlikely because I hate to be cold! But both would be cool. On a note of whimsy, I will add one more. You will all understand. I would like to fish with Dad one more time - anywhere and for anything in Missouri. Thankfully we did several times before he passed in 2001. But once more would be fine with me.

Mine passed away in September of this year so that would be number one on my list as well. rps 1
countryred Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 I hear ya there guys. My Dad passed away in February He found out his time was short on December 1st and wanted to try to fish one more time. But we had so many negative temps everything was froze over and he wasn't able to travel. He and Mom went on several good trips in the past. He hired a guide, Bill Fletcher, I think... on Norfork to catch stripers but they weren't biting, they did have fun catching Kentuckies under a bridge. . Another trip they hired Steve Custer on Truman to catch White Bass and Hybrids, The lake was flooded but they caught a bunch on the Long Shoal Beach on spoons. He and Mom were going to make a trip to see our 10 acres near the Jacks Fork last fall....Wished that could have happened. That's one of the reasons that I am making a list....to get a chance to do some cool trips before I get too old..lol
