I got my mount and forgot to post it.  I need to tell you all how heavy this deer was.

Yes I do process my deer -- I am fearful butcher shops are overwhelmed with deer during deer season and cannot take proper care of it.

Candy cooked everything in the front part in the slow cooker and it was excellent. I pounded the steaks and cooked them quickly with a bit of Penzeys Ozark Seasoning.  They were a bit tough but cutting across the grain helped.

Did I mention how heavy that deer was?

     That is why we do our own too David. I have witnessed once a pile of deer at a meat packers  waiting to be skinned. That one on the bottom of the pile? That place closed many, many moons ago and the places around here now have quite the process managed well. Still as long as we are able we will do it ourselves,
