aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Not much of a report but its better than nothing. I put in at Beaver creek( wanted to run the boat a little). Got to the bridge at Swan creek and started trolling. Just got a new Xi5 so this trip was basically a learning experience. And of course i forgot my walleye trolling box so i used what i usually use for whites. Put on a Purple tiger flicker shad #5. First 5 minutes i got a 16 inch walleye, after i cuddled him for a bit he was released and that pretty much sums up my day. I got up to the darn and threw some swim baits and a jerker for a bit. I was basically playing with the new trolly so i wasnt fishing very serious... Love the wireless troller for trolling. Not many people out but it was a good day. I guess a bad report is better than no report. Didnt mark many fish either but it gets shallow up there, im sure they are around... good luck
Fish24/7 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 appreciate the info. as always, thanks buddy
trythisonemv Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 What is actually considered the pothole? I have been so unclear on this
Rickf Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 The pot hole is the water directly below the dam. I also fished out of Beaver Creek today and stayed in that area, it was also slow for me I had one walleye and five largemouth nothing big.
trythisonemv Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Thanks I aim to fly fish for walleye and whites when spring rolls around and someone suggested the pothole!
oneshot Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 My Son has been staying down there, visited him couple months ago. Was so excited what I seen, told my wife even if my Son wasn't there I think I would think serious about pulling the Boat down there and getting a room for a couple days. Just wondering does anyone Catfish there? oneshot
trythisonemv Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 When is best time for walleye in porhole? I have always thought Feb and March but I've only caught walleye from rivers never bs
Moswimb8slinger Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Now threw March, the bite always seems better with water running
