Gavin Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Sometimes it is cheaper to buy them mounted & balanced on the wheel. Know your bolt pattern.
fishingaddiction Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 none of the major brands make trailer tires except goodyear and for the most part there all made in China. Call Economy Tire & Muffler in Ozark they are good guys and know what there doing. Goodyear Marathon is a good tire but at the top of the price range. I haven't had good luck with Hi Run or Carlisle. I've had good luck with Tow Master and Gremax. The Gremax in 15" come in 8 ply and 10 ply. From the picture i could see yours is load range C (6 ply) so it is most likely 14". Agree. Gremax radial is a good trailer tire for the money. Had a set of these on another boat trailer and was very pleased with them. Ball & Prier in Golden carries them. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
GNSfishing Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Being we are looking at boat trailer tires I have a question on tire wear. My Nitro Z8 boat trailer seems to wear or drag the tires and they are wearing on the outside of the tires. It is a twin axle trailer and the right side tear axle tire seems to wear first. The longest trip I have pulled this trailer is a couple of trips to Pomme-De-Terre lake. Most of the trips are about a couple of miles to the ramp at Cape Fair. The trailer is 4 years old and I think the tread wear is just being dragged off. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid this type of wear or reduce it???? I am going to have to buy another set of tires and really don't wear them out in a few miles. So if there is no solution other than cheap tires.
TRRANGER Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I will 2nd the call to Randy idea he is a great guy. Best trailer Tire I have found has been th Maxxis.
Members Rogersvillefisherman Posted December 23, 2014 Members Posted December 23, 2014 Randy at Purcell is one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Champ188 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Nothing against Randy whatsoever, but you Arkansas guys should give Rich Seals at Norm's in Bentonville a shot. He's a dyed-in-the-wool bass fisherman and a heckuva good guy. He has always treated me and Donna exceptionally well.
Members jaspy111 Posted December 23, 2014 Author Members Posted December 23, 2014 thanks for all the good info guys

GNSfishing Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Does anyone know who does alignments of boat trailers around the Branson area??
