Sore Thumbs Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I took pictures of some old lures that I found in my grandpas tackle box. Someone suggested I get a shadow box. So for Christmas I had this made for my dad to remember his father.
merc1997 Bo Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 that is so nice. nothing like preserving glimpses of history. bo
fishingaddiction Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Very nice thumbs. As mentioned in a previous post. I have 4 boxes displaying my wife's grandfathers old lures and one large box of lures that were my Dad's. Both are deceased, so the boxes give me fond memories of these great men. J-Doc Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 So wish I had some of the old ones from my family like this. Nicely done. And Merry Christmas!! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
rps Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 What a great way to preserve your memories for you and for later generations. You should attach a typewritten sheet to the back that identifies each lure and any memory you have of it with your Dad or yourself. Years from now, someone will read it and thank you.
Sore Thumbs Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Funny thing is. I didn't take up fishing til after he past. All i did was golf. Now all i do is fish and play golf a couple times a year.
