fishingaddiction Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks for the link crazy. I will check it out. I know a couple guys who chase "birds" all winter on BS. (Loons are always around feeding fish ) Good eye fishingaddiction ! Not a bad strategy this time of year. The bass are not always there, but it is worth checking it out. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

Gulls fly around too much and will sometimes scatter. Loons are always in a particular "area" and that's where you want to be. Champ188 1

Fish24/7 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Good to know, 24/7. yep, unless those gulls are dive bombing the buffet they could easily be 100yds or more from the school at times.
Champ188 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Yes, I've never been very successful at chasing gulls but have caught fish on more than one occasion near loons. Fish24/7 1
fishingaddiction Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 +1...Loons have the ability to also dive and feed on deep forage. Gulls just seem to dive and eat shad that are close to or on the surface. Loons are like your graph, they are constantly moving, diving and searching for forage. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
glennL Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I guess we should have a discussion on, "will the loons or gulls hit on a Ned rig? Seriously, I want to thank everyone on this forum for sharing this past year. As a pt resident and fisherman, seeing and reading these posts really takes my mind off of the daily work grind. Hopefully this year, I will begin to use everything that has been posted and be able to share what is working. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays Glenn
