Sprint21fter Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Fished Friday from Little Indian to point 17, caught 8 keepers and landed 22 other shorts. Fished the A-rig when the wind finally got up around timbered bluff ends and boat docks. Best depth was 30ft. Early in the morning fished a white spoon and caught 1 solid 3.5lb largemouth 1/2 way up little indian. Found shad and decent size school and on the first drop caught that fish and I guess the school spooked off made a big circle and couldn't zero in on them. Anyways, when the wind did pick up the A-rig fish showed up for me and could run a pattern. Biggest was a 5lber with several in the 3 lb range. Caught my first double on the rig as well. Water temp was 47-48. Sunday, put in after church and fished from the mouth of Little Indian past the ski buoys. Had my brother-in-laws with me and we all had some kind of A-rig tied on and ended up with 12 keepers nothing over 3.5lbs. Lots of bumps, pushes, and cage rattlers with no hookups. All blacks except for 1 Kentucky. Keep the trolling motor down until you collide with them, there will be more than one when you get a bite. Hope to get out on New Years or on Friday before school starts back up. Will post later.
fishingaddiction Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Great report Sprint. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
5bites Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Great report! Interesting on the fish scattering after catching just one.
Champ188 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Thanks for the info. Figured it was about time for the A-rig bite to get good. Dang it.
