rangerman Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 rps is my hero. The man is a table rock walleye guru. The only time I can consistently catch them on the rock is in the spring on the Kings, he does it regularly. Lead core is a great method however it is one I have been sliding away from. I have begun using snap weights system 50/50 method which amounts to shorter leads and easier control. All trolling methods have their place though. You can troll cranks in water in the 30 degree range. Just choose the right styles and methods. When pulling in cold water, it is usually best to troll around 1mph and stall the cranks regularly. As the jerk bait guys the hit is usually a whisper. The same thing occurs when stalling on the troll. It won't be a slam but just slight weight. i much more enjoy trolling with the water in the 40-50's like we currently have. With this weather I don't see it staying that way for long. Hope to make it back down in a week or so. ;-)
Tanderson15 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I agree with RM. If you fish TR check with RPS. Besides he is great to fish with and will give you some great recipes to prepare the catch. It's like a double catch
