got to get out for a bit of fishing today. hit the water fairly close to 11 am. tried a slew of different things with no success. decided to go up a creek, and since the nedders seem to be getting bit, i put on a fat crappie tube on an 1/8 proto type crappie head, and once i got zeroed in on where the bass were just wore them out. they were located on the creek bottom 20ft. deep.

all were brownies and had more than a dozen keepers, but lots of shorts. do not know just how much better the ned might have got bit, but if it was any better, you would have needed a bat to beat them off :have-a-nice-day: . was really surprised that never caught one crappie. was not the way i figured the bite would be location wise, but goes to show to just keep changing and be flexible in presentations.

You guys are my heroes. I don't know that I've ever caught a dozen keeper brownies in a single day, much less in a couple of hours out of one spot in January on a crappie jig. Awesome.

You need to get out of that dirty water more...

to tell the truth, i could not believe just how many of those brownies were stacked up all together. and, i too could not believe at how many of them were 15 to 17 inches. if i had some of the floating senkos, it would have a great place to try them out. don't know if anyone in town keeps them or not.

Might try Jug N Plug in Shell Knob. Walmart also carries the Strike King Zeroes.

Awesome Bo. You said it, just keep looking to locate them and trying different presentations. They seem to be grouped up in packs when you find them.

No matter how you caught them a dozen brown keepers is a dang fun day. Might have hurt your arm with the elaztech.

no, we put them back where they were. might want to sneek in there and see if they are as willing to bite again. my wife would have a ball catching them.
