The bead head rubber leg RFSN is one of my top 3, Pat's Rubberlegs, and egg are the other two. New fangled streamers are more trouble to tie, and they don't produce as well as a good minnow hard bait.

I dug thru my materials and found a patch of fox squirrel and used the approved slf color for body. I now have a handful of new patterns to try on Current River this weekend. Boxes are full, but I am still in tying mode.

Ok. Make a fly up. Start with a name. The Sunshine Lady. Use red and orange and yellow and tie a fly with a seductive wiggle but no brains.

Stop fly fishing and throw jerkbaits for big browns. The big fish want a meal, not a snack.

I get it. You love fly fishing and want to catch them that way.

Then tie huge, articulated flies in all white or black and gold. Then commit to fishing them all day. Yes, it is work. You'll probably see others catching dinks on the usual stuff. Be steadfast. Because your patience and persistence will be rewarded with a monstrous strike and a big fish.

But you won't catch fish at your bench. Tie something big and ugly and then get on the water and fish the heck out of it.

Look, I catch a lot of fish, and big fish, on the Current using a piece of plastic with three treble hooks on it. Don't over think it too much. Look where it got Pete Carroll.

Gotta love Joe, hops on the fly tying forum to preach about jerk baits. Joe, you can fish similar patterns known as articulated streamers, but I get it, jerk baits are way you fish and you do well with them.

Articulated streamers are a way to catch big fish on the fly rod, but they have their own limitations(small creeks and advance casting skills, etc.) Why don't you play around with some new materials? Different dubbings, rubber legs, uv products. I'm really into using CDC as collars in replace of hen hackle for soft hackles and nymphs.

Thanks for the link, I have not run across the one fly site. The trouble with my location is I am several hours from a local fly shop, material access is limited. I do have a nice selection of material in house to create from. Nice snowy day today. Going to tye some on today.
