tapout Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 At 9pm Feb 7th, BPS in Springfield still had a display full of the Pro Qualifiers (probably 40). The sign said limit 2. I picked up 1. I'm ok with the BPS reels but doubt I ever buy another BPS rod. (Just my opinion don't get all defensive.) I'll head back later this week to find a rod (St. Croix or Shimano) to pair with it, but the family was with me (and it takes me forever to make a decision) and it was getting late so I just got the reel. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
Jeremy Rasnick Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Quick ? Are those reels they got for $50 worth the effort? I'm going to buy a new Lews but at $50 I might pick one up.
Jeremy Rasnick Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I have lots of good reels from lews, curados, a revo, and hands down the pro qualifier is my favorite ,slowly replacing the rest.
Bass Enforcer Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 My wife saw KVD at the Springfield store while we were there. She said he was shooting a commercial in the kayak area . I was there to buy a humminbird. I expected them to tell me I would have to either pay for it there or they would have to take it up front for me. But I asked any way. The guy at the sonar area said. That morning they "were" letting people take it with them as they had more shopping to do. He said that morning they had three guys come back and ask for one. He said when they gave it to them they took off running with it in the attempt to steal it. I couldn't believe it! He said they were all three caught. They weren't together, it was all separate occasions.
Smalls21 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I went yesterday and there were Green County Mounties at the doors, trying to prevent theft i guess
Blll Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Made the trip to Springfield today. Plenty of Pro Qualifiers there. Sign does say limit 2 but reel counter guys were advising buy two take em to your car and come back, as many times as you want. They just can not have more than two on a single purchase. Oh, and you veterans, don't forget you get 10% off the top of your purchases. I had forgotten that but my Viet nam hat prompted the cashier to inquire. While I was in line I did not hear any other cashiers ask. Also surprised me how few rod or reel trade-ins I saw. Worth the effort. Also made sense to have a BP credit card for points & rebates. All totaled I saved $165 on a $500 purchase. Worth the trip. Lunch with the wife at Hemmingways...nice day. Champ188 1
Sac River Jim Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 i was up there today around noon and they still had almost a bin full of the reels but what caught my eye was the flicker shad and flicker minnows for 3.97 w/ a dollar rebate on the shad. they had a huge bin of mostly looked like #5's and 7's in alot of good colors. up towards the registers in the middle bins they had poison chatter baits for 3.97. i stocked up on all three.
Seth Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I wish I had noticed the Pure Poison sale. I'd have bought several of those as well.
troutgnat Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Seth I can assure those Neds do not work for stream smallies or crappie or catfish or drum or carp or walleye...still looking to catch a white bass on one but I will make that happen this spring with the smoky bling and purple haze colors Just talk to Ham on here, that guy is out to set a record on what can be caught on the Ned!
