Great video. Lots of those fish off one of the biggest guide holes on the lake. Hard to believe the pressure that locations gets and still fish after fish after fish comes off it.

It is a classic 200 yrd. stretch. One day I followed two guides down it starting in the pocket and fishing to the next pocket between the docks to the next point. They caught them on it and we put 15 pounds of Jaws in the boat behind them. When the water was high they were clear up in the yard. The dead oak trees are a testament to the floods.

Two of the 5 pound plus smallmouth that I had the day we had 3 over 5 came off that location. It was 2011.

Thanks for sharing.

fishingaddiciton the new thing to do is use your "cigarette" lighter in your boat and have it directly connected to your camera all day. This seems the best way and you can get all the footage you want. Another tip is after you catch a fist is to end the recording and start a new one. This will help finding your catches and cut editing time down.

What part is needed for the boat to connect to the 12 volt adapter/cigarette lighter set up? Is it GP or after market. The batteries are okay for most things, but not for shooting hours and hours of fishing. Good point on turning the camera off after catching a fish, I do that also.

I am just starting to set the GP on my boat so any info would help. Where are the best locations to place the GP and what mounts do you use?

I assume to wire it direct to the cigarette light you have to purchase the skeleton case?

What video setting have you found to be the best?

I use the clamp mount with the flexible/adjustable arm to record fishing. I move it around the boat some, but generally clamp it to either the drivers or passenger windshield. This is the best location to video the front deck. Also use the suction cup mount when recording while running, as it steadies the camera. Suction cup gets very good grip to fiberglass, outboard or windshields. Just purchased the cap/head mount but haven't tried it yet. Should work good as it will shoot wherever you're looking. Another great accessory is the remote, as this enables controlling the camera remotely. Just push a button to turn off and on, or adjust other camera settings.

FishingAddiction,

From my research it looks like you need a skeleton case, cigarette lighter adapter that has a 2 amp outlet (i.e. Powergen 2.4 amps/12 dual usb) and a usb 2.0 type A to mini-B cable. You need the 2 amp adapter in order to film and charge the batteries at the same time.

Alex may need to verify this. I have not personally tried this but I think that is correct.

Great link, thanks. Have not made the leap yet, but am looking into it.

Then there is the part of me that knows Don Baldridge shoots most of his Winkiedoodles video with a Canon digital camera...

Good video bluff bassin. I'm going to buy the Skelton case as we speak so I can charge and record at the same time. It's worth it in my opinion. It protects your camera too. I found a 6ft usb cord as well for $2 on Amazon that is usually $20. Going to pick up a 32g micro sd card too. The go pro will always be on in my boat now!

Alex. I would consider getting 64gb card instead of the 32gb. Yes it is a little more money but you will fill a 32gb card before you know it and then you are screwed the rest of the day/weekend. Unless you have a device where you can edit or delete files on the card on the water you are SOL.
