Fish24/7 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Thanks for all the post I went Thursday and put in at Spring Creek Ramp fished from 1-4. Did a lot more looking for brush, but did mange a dandy on a Jerkbait in the wind on a point a No-brainer spot. I will try and load it up. I didn't have to worry about a parking spot at the ramp I had my choice Water temp was 41ish on my graphs & yes the wind was BLOWING also. 20150226_151734.jpg nice one!
BrianS Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Just so happens that I am buying a house by Spring Creek. In fact from the back yard you can see the lake. Sure is gonna beat having to drive 45 minutes to go fishing. HOOK 'EM HORNS

I wonder what the Stl Louis guys would think about being 45 minutes away from BSL or TR Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

I wonder what the Stl Louis guys would think about being 45 minutes away from BSL or TR I used to live in Mtn Home years ago and my house was 3 miles from Pigeon Crk. Needless to say, living that close is a game changer. I worked at Baxter Lab on graveyard shift and could get about a 1/2 day fishing in everyday if I had energy to do so. Now that I have been up by Ava for the las 12 years or so it makes going to the lake more expoensive and when I do go I really need to fish a whole day to make it worth my time. Ham 1 HOOK 'EM HORNS

Of course, that would put me about 13 hours from sturgeon bay, Wi! so I'm darn if I do and darn if I don't.
mixermarkb Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Living in Ava would be like having Bull Shoals in my backyard! Try working till 10pm on a Friday and driving down from STL to fish a tourney on Saturday! Let me tell you you feel it by the time you get back to STL Saturday night!
Ham Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I get it Mark. When I was a little younger. I got up at 0300 and drove from Minden down to the coast and fished all day and then drove back home. 10 hours of driving for 8 hours of fishing. I got to bed at midnight and got up at 0600 the next day to get ready for work. I'll settle for my 40-65 minutes runs to the parts of BSL I frequent. The long drives home after a tournament are always better if you win:) We are driving down to TR from Michigan to fish a resort association derby and then we have to drive back Sunday after the tournament. It used to be easier when I was in my 30's than in my 60's. We still have 18 inches of ice on the lakes near my house. Heading out to ice fish in an hour. Anything to get the boat on the water a month earlier. Ham 1
