Smallieguy87 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Anyone else go shopping for more fishing gear on snowy days like today or am I the only one who thinks buying new gear makes spring come faster? Ham 1
Ham Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Buying more gear just gets you further in debt and you fishing stuff more cluttered, but I seem to do it anyways,. Smallieguy87 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Smallieguy87 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Same here....every single time and i don't know why i fall for it. I more often then not end up giving a lot of it to friends of mine so i guess there's a bit of a silver lining some where! Haven't figured out the debt part yet lol
jdmidwest Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 This is the time of year I stock up on guns and ammo, hunting stuff and the like. Good clearance prices this time of year. Fishing stuff gets bought out in the fall at the end of fishing season when prices fall. Bad thing is, as you get older, you forget what you have when it comes time to use it.... That's a good method. Unfortunately I don't really get to hunt much so I'm always buying fishing gear to make up for that lol
jerry241 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I drive a truck all over the country and every time I get a chance I stop at places that sell tackle. its really cool to go to cabelas in Minnesota for example and find entire end caps full of rapala ice jigs for example in every color available instead of s couple hooks in the middle of an isle. The problem with this is now I gotta haul all this around with me knowing it will be a while before I can put it to use Smallieguy87 1
Members dmorgan66 Posted March 1, 2015 Members Posted March 1, 2015 I have the same problem. Always think this new stuff I read about over winter will make me catch fish like a pro. HA. By the time I get it all loaded in the boat I won't even be able to get on plan at WOT. The tires and springs on boat trailer are flat. I wear double life jackets to keep the boat afloat. 15 rods in locker and I can't decide what to throw. Maybe I need to take up horse shoes. Smallieguy87 1

Sounds just like me minus the boat of course (unless you count a kayak). Last summer i got rid of a few rods and reels that i didn't use to often only to buy two more this year! one ill be doing a little write up on the forums soon. I had a custom rod done by mosley rod works. Looking forward to posting pics and talking about the experience ASAP.
