BilletHead Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Time to do some garden work. Kind of behind the fall lettuce crop but it is in. Got maters pulled and plot tilled. The Mrs. got it planted and a sprinkle to set the tiny seeds in the dirt. A nice inch of rain last night pounded it tight so we will begin to let the magic happen and hope for the best. We had a neighbor keep the garden watered while we were absent for two weeks and the peppers went bonkers. I still go out to the garden daily and pick and feast on the peppers daily. The sweet ones and a chili now and again but will not tackle the jalapenos raw. BilletHead Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Remember that lettuce we planted in August 23rd? Well it did real well. I mean we have had the stuff running out our ears. So with what low that was called for last night we picked most of what was left. What we did leave did not look too bad this morning after warming up from 25. BilletHead Best Romaine we have ever had. Neighbors got a couple of big bags (they had to wash their own ) Here is what we had cleaned up. We will see how much we can eat in the next few days! ness Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 My cold frame fits over a bed, so I've still got lettuce and radishes going underneath. I did pull the remaining pepper plants and dried the chiles today: Those are poblano and Anaheim chiles, and a few banana peppers. I'll use them to make Chile Colorado -- really good flavor with a blend of these. BilletHead 1 John
