I was looking over Webb outdoors new site for the CPA and stumbled on the bow fishing link. After looking at the weights was curious to know what happens to all those carp after they go to the scales. I know some of the diehard bass guys don't care but those are some big numbers lb wise. Are they releasing them back? If not has the MDC chimed in?

They were sent away to become fertilizer last year, as best I recall. The spin that the bowfishing association puts on it is that it rids the lake of unwanted rough fish. I guess they need to be thinned somehow.

They would be tough to release after pulling the arrow out.

We will be down at the same time it is scheduled this year (accidentally), should be interesting.

Thanks Dave, I forgot about the arrow! I almost fell off my chair laughing so hard! Rough fish or not that seems like a lot of fish to throw in the trash. Turtles are happy I guess.

There is a company called SF Organics that liquefies the fish for use as fertilizer. They bring trucks to haul the fish off after weigh in.

They have expanded the tournament to 5 lakes this year (Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Truman, Stockton, and Pomme de Terre), and only added 100 boats (275 total) from last year. My guess is the traffic on Table Rock will be somewhat minimal this year, compared to last.

So they still allow the airboats? Thought that was the big controversy after the first year.

They didn't have airboats last year, but they will this year but on Truman only.
