Members stumpy Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 Fished James River and RR Arm both yesterday. James in the AM in lot of fog, and RR later in the day. Both places were very muddy and covered with debris. No whites running that I could tell at either place. Water temps were about 49 at Kinngs yesterday, and 56 at RR arm.
Members stumpy Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 Sorry...I said James but it was Kings that I fished.
Members Dhunter1 Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 Fished James arm Saturday, water temp was 52 and very muddy but the whites are definitely there. Had a limit in couple hours.

Members capndan Posted March 17, 2015 Members Posted March 17, 2015 I was there Saturday too and it didn't turn really muddy until later in the afternoon. Crappie fishing was off the chart good until later in the afternoon. Accidentally hooked about a 60 lb spoonbill with 10 lb test took about 30 min to land. Went to Aunts today water was in pretty good shape caught several bass this evening. wondering what james and flat at point 15 looked like today? Anyone catch meany whites there today?
Seth Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Talked to a guy that was snagging around point 15 this morning. He said they snagged several big sow whites on accident. He marked a lot of shad with bigger fish close by and figured it was whites.

Be a shame if it was the latter.

Seth Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 They have to be released since they are a game fish. I snag A LOT and it is very rare for us to catch anything besides paddlefish. A few shad and the occassional white bass do get in the way when they are running in big schools. It still pales in comparison to the number of fish removed from the waters by folks targetting them though so it doesn't mean anything in the big picture.
Hog Wally Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 One was snagged in the mouth and another in the dorsal. Other two in the midsection but we stayed in the same spot for several hours and they never floated up.
