ness Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Lotsa good info on here for sure. I'd bet a lot of folks who wander in here either don't know how to search, don't get what they're looking for if they do search, or are overwhelmed with the number of topics or posts. I also think it's pretty normal to think your question is unique or timely -- so some folks just ask before searching. Right now there are 884 members online here. That's a crap-ton of folks not asking questions or making recommendations. What if just 1% each started there own thread asking what's working on Table Rock right now? Seems like the stuff we're grumbling about is pretty miniscule, given the amount of traffic. I know I've joined forums just so I'm able to search them -- most require a membership to do that. I do it with no intention of giving anything -- just taking information for my own benefit. I don't feel guilty in the least for not participating. It's the internet -- it's free information. Other things I don't feel guilty about: *not donating to Wikipedia even though I use it a lot *not being a member of PBS, even though I watch it a lot *paying more taxes than I owe, even though I know the government that protects me needs it *breathing John
Root Admin admin Posted March 20, 2015 Root Admin Posted March 20, 2015 I have thought about making is a requirement to be a member to view the forum... just can't bring myself to do it. It'd be a pain for a lot of people who are challenged to sign up and more ppl to help with lost pw's. Yes there are a lot of request. Plus I think the forum gobbles up user names and pw's cause ppl who have been on for a long time all of a sudden have troubles. Anyhow- I don't think it will happen any time soon.

Members kazoobass Posted March 24, 2015 Members Posted March 24, 2015 What I don't like is when someone asks about fishing in an area they're heading to fish. They get good info and then do not report back about their trip. Hand to god, I will report back here as soon as I get off the water the first day. I will not have pics yet(assuming I catch something) but I will post the good, the bad and the ugly... This board has been great for me setting up my trip to Table Rock. I have been on many message boards over the years but I have never found a more nice and helpful group of people than I have on this board. I haven't even made the trip yet and this is already going to become at least a yearly event if not more. Thanks to everyone on the Table Rock forum who has given me advice. You are correct about the depth of information on this board. I have done search and have found hours of reading without even scratching the surface... Phil Lilley 1
