Went fishing with board member Huntest today, had a great time, Dave is a good man to fish with.

Fishing was tough, we caught about 20 with a half dozen keepers or so. All Ned fish. Could not get a deep bite going, I'd say everyone we caught was in 10 feet or less. Many of the fish were back in the coves, grouped up on points. Kind of strange, but a couple of our best spots were points or nearby banks with little to no cover and gravel bottom.

Water is brown from about point 23 to the mouth of the Kings, it may extend further down lake, but we did not go past the mouth of the Kings.

Water temps were 48-51.

Thanks, QB. We just got to the lake and saw a bunch of boats running up the Kings River. We have 56 degree water here at the junction? I have the grand babies so fishing time will be limited. I appreciate the Intel.

You are right. He is a good boat mate. I am glad you got a small pattern going.

Quill, thanks again for the companionship. I had a great time and we sure didn't run out of things to laugh about. The catching could have been a bit better but the fishing was great.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Indeed.

The bare banks do not surprise me a bit, at least with the little rig. There will be more and more fish on those nothing places, with prettier places right across the cove or creek.

Dave I'm on a very similar bite on stockton and i agree i dont see it doing nothing but getting better. It wont be long till the big girls move in. Matter of fact we had a 4.95 kicker taken of that type of nothing bank. I'm fishing a derby tomorrow and the little rig is tied on and ready to rock and roll. the creek i'm fishing has small wash outs on the flat pea gravel banks and sunday our two largest fish came from the wash outs.
