Members Mattman1092 Posted March 21, 2015 Members Posted March 21, 2015 I'm heading down to do some crappie fishing. Anyone have any suggestions on where on where I can find them?
fishinwrench Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Matt, they are right up on the banks in certain spots. I can't explain what a "certain spot" is though, you just gotta go try awhile and you'll figure it out. 1/16 road runner with a 2" curly tail grub will do the trick. Or the same bait on a plain 1/16 jig head and 6# line. Dewayne French 1

Members basscatfan Posted March 22, 2015 Members Posted March 22, 2015 Fished for crappie today. Put in at roach. Went up the little niangua first. Pretty slow for me. Water temp was 52. Went back out in the bug niangua and started catching fish in 10' brush piles.water temp was 54. Then ran up in the osage caught fish suspended 10' down over 25' water temp was 47. Ended up with 30 but had to work for them.
fishinwrench Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 My stepson and one of his friends walked the bank here in the Gravi and got 2 limits. About 10 of them were big fat females, which surprised me.
Seth Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I managed 12 keepers and just as many shorts around the 55mm of the Osage arm yesterday evening. The docks were shallower than I had liked, but they still held a few fish. All but a couple were males. Had to be able to shoot the jig up under the docks pretty well or you didn't catch much. They wanted the slower fall of a 1/32oz head too. The water was 55 degrees with pretty good color to it. conorsixtakc 1
Members Mattman1092 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Members Posted April 2, 2015 We had some slow going but caught a few keepers. I just had surgery on my back last week and am thinking the best spot for my recovery would be on my dock with a fishing pole.
