I fished a few hours today with one 18" largemouth in the Kimberling City area. Came on a brown phantom Rock Crawler on some ledge rock. There were numbers of fish in the area I was fishing, but not a lot of takers.

FYI, this was my first weekend fishing the Rock Crawler, and I love it. So much so that I tried to order more online Saturday night. Cabela's is backordered for 4+ weeks, and I ordered some directly from Spro, only to get a call today that they aren't getting more in until May/June. The lady on the phone told me she assumed Cabela's would have the same time frame. Bass Pro doesn't sell them online, and the Springfield store is out of them.

Sportsman's was the winner. They had probably 50 left, but only one Phantom Brown (they don't have it anymore). Green Craw, Spring Craw, and Mud Bug were all that were left. Just a heads up if you're holding off to get ahold of some.

Trespass. You say trespass?

I'll have you know Bill Babler has given me a pass as far down lake as Big M, and even sometimes Viney Creek. He only really enforces the no fly zone from Cow Ceek down.

try to run down to baxter and fish the indians without permission and see what happens. Babler will give you a card that says go directly to jail and do not pass go!!!

has anyone thrown the spro little john on the rock yet. i was throwing the rock crawler in phantom brown and my friend Dave was throwing the little john in nasty shad color on stockton today. we both had some success. water temp 50 degrees in 6 to 10 fow on transition banks with the wind blowing in under mostly overcast skies. if you cant find rock crawlers maybe the little john might be a good option. its definately a different presentation than what they been seeing as far as warts and crawlers go.

Picked up a few of the Little John MD to try, but have not had them wet so far. Also the Fat Papa baits. Couple of good craw colors that could work.

They will be on to plastics and fins here pretty shortly anyway.

I have thrown the Little John MD a bit in the fall and have caught fish on it. Another interesting looking Spro bait is the Fat Papa 55. I like the looks of the Olive Craw and the Honey Craw. Haven't tried them however.

Olive craw is the color I picked up in the Fat Papa. Bought both sizes. Hard to find a good deep crank in craw colors.
