J-Doc Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 When the spear fisherman was missing last year near the dam, it was weeks before they found him. Once it's deep, water clarity is terrible they say. Tragic nonetheless. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Quillback Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 News report tonight said they are calling off the search after today.

J-Doc Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Good news for the family. They found her body late this evening. A sonar image turned up something worth investigating and the dive team was called in. Just got the update feed and she was recovered. The family brought in a specialist from up north and the sonar picked up something. Very glad they have found her so the family can mourn properly and hold funeral proceedings. Lance34 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Members Blitz960 Posted April 9, 2015 Members Posted April 9, 2015 The same Wisconsin team volunteered for the search when it first happened but was turned away by the Benton County authorities, per KNWA last evening.. .. After the futile search for a week, the Hernandez family approached the Wisconsin team and asked for help. They came down here with their sonar equipment and the Hernandez family paid for their expenses and the Embassy Suites even donated a room to the team. Not sure how much of these are true but just heard it from KNWA last evening... Cannot imagine what the family had gone through....So glad that the family has closure, even though it is not exactly positive.
Guest Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 She drowned in 110FOW, I couldnt imagine... The family has to be devastated, escpecially with a 15 month old baby. Very very sad
fishinwrench Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Can the "authorities" actually prevent a search from others ? Why would they even want to ?
J-Doc Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Evidently they can. Must be a "official proceedings" thing. I also asked if they needed any volunteers since I have side scan and I am setup to see all kinds of things underwater. Foundations, trees, etc. I was also told no by the water patrol. I'm glad the group that found her was brought back in. It would haunt me to know my relative was simply out there somewhere and lost. Need marine repair?
