Muddy Water Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Do you NED guys rig the jelly color up or down on the jig? Just curious if it would make any difference....and yes I'm bored
Hunter53 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I am no expert but as a rule of thumb I always put the lighter color of any plastic on the bottom. Champ188 1
dtrs5kprs Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 No clue if it matters, but I always rig the purple up. Just sort of going with the dark on top/light on bottom concept. Will often rig the solids along the seam because it is easier to keep the hook running straight.

Yea that's the way I've always done it; I was cutting up some Zinkers while watching it rain (or storm) and got to thinking on it; was just curious if anyone does the opposite with the light color up
Guest Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I always rig them jelly down, if it's orange then it's down. I want my hook poking out the green pumpkin side. But after Dave's comment, it apparently doesn't matter. Sometimes I have a hard time threaded them on right, so I will run the hook out the seam. That way I've got a line to follow.

I guess when the weather permits I'll have to experiment and see if one way is better than the other. With the lighter color up it may imitate a grub that is injured or dying since most creatures in the water turn belly up when they're dead or dying
Champ188 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I split mine half where the left side is PB and right side is J. Just make sure you don't get the PB on the right and the J on the left. The LM and SM will both turn their noses up at it. The spots will still bite it but they'll bite anything. jolicious, Muddy Water, Hunter53 and 1 other 4

Definitely much better hook-ups that way, because they hold it longer! Because, as we all know, peanut butter always sticks to the roof of the mouth! Muddy Water, gramps50, Champ188 and 6 others 9
