netboy Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Trout Crack was such a good pattern and then suddenly no one said anything about it anymore. They work really well dead drifted under an indicator on the shallow shoals (just over ankle deep). It's amazing how shallow trout can hold and you don't see them. Ham 1
Clay Goforth Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 WHOA!!!!! That is a huge rainbow. Congratulations! The Norfork holds some monster fish. That Cutty is B-E-A-UTIFUL too. ollie Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Great looking fish! All of them! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Amery Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Just because you don't hear about the trout crack doesn't mean it isn't catching fish. Awesome dropper fly. Ham 1
Ham Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I dont think it is ANY less effective than before. I think ppl just moved on to whatever the "new" Hot fly is. I really need to pick up my fly rod again. Plastic_worm 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Big Brown Trout Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 wow great fish, are cuttys common at Norfork? Let the summer of Carp, begin.
Ham Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 wow great fish, are cuttys common at Norfork? Not uncommon. They just don't do all that well in the river. I think they rely on bug hatches too much. Larger ones are less common. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
hoglaw Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Last several trips (December I think) we have caught nice cutthroats. There's one spot that's past the boat docks going downstream at the top of the long slow hole where I always seem to catch a good one.
