Nope. It is just an easy way to refer to that arrangement, and has come to be attached to the little head with the cut stick. Kind of like calling a grub a "smoke grub" at Table Rock. Most folks will know you are talking about a 4"-5" single tail in some variation of smoke.

If you look at Ned's blog you will see all sorts of baits being used that way. He fishes the shadz a lot, but I can't stand it unless I am fishing a lake with grass. A variety of little craws can be very good.

I could see a minnow style plastic body working well but I agree with you on working just above grass.

Sorry, thought you didn't want to hear more about it by that name. Here you go:

And no, I don't have any association with Zman, aside from buying a ton of their products because they work. And for more than the Ned. Some great flipping baits, good options for the swing heads (I don't sell those either), shakey heads (don't sell those either), truly excellent swim baits for ball heads or a-rigs (well, you can guess). About the only thing they don't make is a decent tube, and the Flippin crawz is poorly designed in the claw attachments.

Somewhere a bridge is lonely today...

Was I supposed to watch all of those videos?

You do sell Ned jigs though correct?

Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just puts it in perspective.

I agree on the craw. For other reasons too. I'm more old school. Those are a little futuristic for me.

Zman is a little pricey for me. I'm a cheapass

The person who hates seeing all these Ned threads, starts a fresh Ned thread.

Seems like somebody loves attention

Where are all of the big fish pics you claim to be catching with the Ned?

I have a question about the Ned.

From reading week after week after week on the superior greatness of the Ned and how many fish it catches including large fish, are any pro anglers using this on the circuit?

Has any Pro won a tournament with it?

Has the Ned put any pro tournament angler in the money?

Did you read the thread from the guy that just won a tournament this last weekend at Table Rock? Rock Crawlers and Ned to save you the trouble.

Not huge but a good fish on the Ned.

Where are all your fishing reports & wisdom?

Nevermind, you don't share any.

Depends on how informed you would like to be.

Absolutely, after two years of folks asking here, by email, and on YouTube, and waiting on a big company to start doing it. Have been telling folks about the little rig since 2011, sold the first head sometime in May 2014, and tried hard not to.

The Flappin Crawz would be great if they would fix the mold so the claws stayed on. Would be a paca type craw that would not shred. The Turbo Crawz are a great replacement for a zoom speed craw, and the punch crawz are a good finesse craw. A lot like the zoom critter craw, can be trimmed down to whatever length you need.

Overall its saves a ton of money, especially if you limit yourself to a few colors. The salted baits will eventually tear up, after many fish. Like 50 many, if mostly largemouth. Brownies are a little harder on them. The unsalted baits are darn near indestructible. Found a couple I fished last year when repacking the boat, and ended up just putting them back in the bag.

Oh you know me, I just wing it.

Congratulations. I hope it works out well for you.

I used to like salted baits but have since turned away from them. I could never get myself to keep them seperate from my hooks. And we all know what that does.

You remember back and you would be going down the road and you would see a Dead Head sticker on a car?

Well, if you ever see one that says Ned Head, that'll be me. Honk and we'll have a beer.
