Flysmallie Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Now that I really think about it I probably caused more problems with the skirt than any fish. I always pull a bunch of strands out so I can really burn them through the water if I want.
Ketchup Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Superglue the skirts to the head like you would a trailer on a jig. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Walcrabass Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Flysmallie, Concerning burning the Spinner Baits...... as you probably know it is all proportional to a few things. Like weight of Spinner Bait, Blade size/shape, and amount of skirt. For me I keep my blade size up where I want it, my skirt size where I want it, and just go to a heavier Spinner Bait if I want to burn it and stop roll over. Also a trailer on the bait helps a bunch, kind of like the tail on a flying bird. I throw 3/4 oz or whatever it takes. One thing kind of cool about the heavier ones is that the wind affects you less.....you know what I mean with the back lash thing......I can still keep the fluffy skirt too. I like to pulse my Spinner Baits and so a huge action skirt is high on my list. Just thought I would throw all this in there as I did not get to fish over the weekend and I am about to lose my mind !!! Walcrabass Sac River Jim 1
Lifes2Short Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Walcrabass, you have a P.M. from me. I'm headed up in a few hours and hope to find them again in the Mutton Creek area. Hope we don't get stormed off the lake! Sac River Jim 1
Hammer time Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 It's wartime if windy and jig if calm.Channel banks and swings, close to points by creeks. That's has always been good for me with this water temp
