Members sself1 Posted April 2, 2015 Members Posted April 2, 2015 I will be at Big Cedar Lodge for a few days this month. Staying in the valley view lodge section. Does anyone have any experience staying there with a boat? I know they have a trailer parking lot, but I'm concerned with how I will charge my batteries. I have called and talked to a few people, but no one really had a good answer, besides renting a slip, and I don't care to keep my boat in the water over night. Does anyone have any experience with this? I may just have to search for an outside outlet on the building.
big c Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I have stayed there numerous times over the last few years. I had my boat in a slip however the marina manager is very helpful. I think there is a lot just west of the office/check in place that has some electricity to it. I would suggest you call the marina magr (sorry i can't remember his name) and ask about it. I did keep my trailer in the lot you mentioned and there was no electricity there last fall.
tapout Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 That is a legit question. I don't have knowledge of Big Cedar but I always take a 100' extension cord because I often have trouble finding an outlet at the resorts we frequent. Boat parking and outlets for charging batteries are clearly very low on an architects design list. Been known to park where I'm not supposed for both charging and theft prevention purposes. Seems they always want you to park the boat a 1/2 mile away in some unlit non secure lot. Of course I could go other places but my wife has her favorites that, like the architect designed, have nothing to do with my fishing boat. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
Bill Babler Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 No problem with renting a slip and parking at the Marina, if they have availability. I believe all slips have power outlets. You can also inquire about there Long Creek Marina. I am sure there are power outlets over there. Do bring a long cord as has been mentioned just in case. As has also been mentioned talk to the marina manager, when you call just ask for the marina. On another note, they do have well lighted docks and security, I would not be afraid to leave equipment in my locked compartments. I would have a problem with any electronics on a Ram Mount, as it would just be my luck to lose that, even if they have never had an incident. Good Luck and enjoy your stay. 5bites Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 They have security!? It's worth staying there for that peace of mind alone! I've always wanted to stay there but never have. I need to look into the rates and lodging info.

Members kazoobass Posted April 2, 2015 Members Posted April 2, 2015 Unless he has some rockcrawlers he will be safe while I am there. Went to my local bass pro shops affiliate owned by kvd brother and the salesman had not heard of the rockcrawler. I got a couple more little john mds. Can't find fish doctors up here. Got a pack of zoom centipedes and a bunch of other stuff I didnt need.
