Bill Babler Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Mike, I like the way you think. Falcon has 2 stickbait rods, one is a Mike McClelland signature and the other is a 6'5" stickbait special. Both are fantastic, but the Stickbait Special fits me like a glove. It is a perfect fit for a guy under 6' tall. It also doubles as a great spook rod, so you get it Winter and Summer. Guys thank you much for the terrific response to this blog, lots and I mean lots of wonderful information here on Rods, Reels, and line. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
5bites Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I believe Mixer nailed it. The reason I believe it is that way is falcon (as far as casting rods are concerned) are slower than what most of us call a true fast. I think the amistad is decent but I'd have to look again. This is what ran me off from them years ago. Pitching and roll casting really requires a fast rod. The faster the better imo. This is where loomis kinda sets the standard and has for years. I need to give them another look though. It's been a year or so. I do know if like to fish the grand challenge but am about $2000 short in rods to be able to do it.
