Stringers are a good idea...that would work. I like my little push button counter though. Drop him in the box and hit the button. Super simple witch is best for me anyways.haha.

correct me if im wrong but with 4 people fishing in the boat you have to have a way to keep them separated. using stringers is a good idea.

Everyone,

To the letter of the law I believe you need to keep them identified in the freezer as well. In other words with your license number on each bag. It can get kind of hairy with a wife and three kids all putting fish in the freezer but it might save you some cash some day. Print off some labels and have them ready for when you clean fish to freeze.I have a good friend that is a game warden and I am not trying to slam anyone but where game violations are concerned they have ice water in their veins. Don't mess up even innocently or it can be costly. For some reason Crappie season seems to be the number one time of year where people get a little crazy. I have actually known game wardens to walk out from the bank in chest waders to check boats fishing close to the bank.

Another suggestion: Keep your Deer tag number on your mounted Deer Heads/antlers. One in the freezer too.

Checking bags of crappie in the freezer for license numbers. Does ANYONE actually label bags of fish in their freezer with license numbers?? Oh brother. Guess I will now. (Rolls eyes)

Well, I can tell you for an absolute fact that if you ever get checked and have any doves or ducks in the freezer, it will go better for you if they are labeled. I do have deer tags in freezer now and don't keep over my personal possession limit on anything that is not labeled. Go ahead and roll your eyes, it won't hurt a thing until the local agent knocks on the back door.

A gal who goes to the church up tgevroad from me had her place ransacked a couple years ago.

She had been bragging at church about how many crappie she had been cleaning, and one of the church members hotlines her.

After ransacking her house, garage, ect. all they found was a bowl in the fridge with 8 fillets.

Moral of the story: Fishermen/women lie.
