They have to blame it on something until you understand Beaver is an "upside down" lake. Fish turn off in when the sun goes behind clouds then move shallow when the sun beats down, will turn on during a cold front ect.... Just do the opposite of Table Rock on the same day and you will catch just as many fish.:)

Yep. The fish and excuses being weighed in is terrible. It's sad. I know the lake is healthy and has far more potential.

I like the upside down theory. Reflects what I've seen. And it doesn't fish like other lakes because of all the tournament pressure and weekend pressure (like myself) that it receives. That lake has a bait thrown in it or at the very least has a line with bait I'm 365 at every hour of the day. And I'd say 99% of it is with artificial lures.

Lets not pretend Beaver is a great bass fishery.

Compared to other lakes in the area, I would call it average to poor.

Now, if your trolling or using live bait, etc. Yeah its not too bad

Looks like Bryan Thrift did pretty well.

Maybe that 60lb prediction will hold up.

Gotta thinks he fishing a Bomber Long A or some type of swimbait. Who knows

Oh compared to the other lakes its below average but not poor. We are starting to see the High Water 09 and 11 class fish now and it will get better each year for the next few, but we need more high water years simple as that.

There is tons upon tons of Shad in the lake and plenty of crays but the biggest harm to the fishery is that Draw down every year, Ya Ya I know ACE don't manage for fishing. but look at the chart it will tell you all you need to know about what hurts the lake most.

FF,

you gotta good point. Its managed for flood contol, not fishing.

It didnt help in 2012 when it got into the bushes & they yanked it down. (fear from 2011)

I think the fishing has improved in recent years, it just so happens that the FLW caught them in a spawning phase funk this time.

Keep in mind, Im almost always crappie fishing the upper end when I go out.

but im going to give the Ned a try on the lower end during May. Maybe I can get lucky
