does Sunnen Lake (YMCA camp) about 10 miles west of Potosi still produce big blue gills? In the 70's the bluegill fishing was awesome.

I fished Sunnen for bass a couple of times, nothing spectacular.

Before the upper lake gave way and flooded out everything, the lower Taum Sauk power plant lake used to produce big redear and bluegill. Don't know how it is these days.

Warmouth are kinda scattered everywhere. I've probably caught more on the upper St. Francis than anywhere else, but I've caught one now and then on just about every river I fish fairly regularly. The slower, murkier rivers seem to have better populations, but they are still scarce compared to goggle-eye and the other sunfish species.
