I started out Friday morning with an air temp of 46. Burr! I caught a couple early in the morning on a wake bait. But the main bite was from goggle-eyes. If I kept all that I caught I could of had a big fish fry, never ate one so I don't know if they are good eaten. They were hitting anything, everything. Maybe that's why I didn't catch a lot of smallmouth, the goggle-eye were more aggressive? I probably cast three different lures, each one about ten times, close to the same spot, before my biggest bass hit. I also caught another gar, but once again when I got it along side my kayak it let go. Maybe it's the angle of my rod when I get them along side? There was tree across the river but not all the way across. Instead of telling you where I floated, I thought I would just post a picture. It was a good trip, here's a few pictures and I released them all....

Looks loke a great time yaknar. I have been slaying the goggle eye myself. Caught a mess of them yesterday at Delaware from the bank after I did some shuttle work for my brother. Caught them on a squarebill crankbait in real shallow water next to logs. I will be floating tomorrow in a green plastic canoe. If any members are out there be sure and say hi!!96236E4F-9702-4304-8557-6D2E07E69896_zps

I know that float inch by inch. It's gotten a lot slower over the years. I caught 5 on fluke right behind that tree last Thursday. And a couple in the big pool before it

I floated Delaware to shelvin again yesterday, water was a little lower than last week and the fishing pattern was a little different. The bass seemed to be shallower, caught all of my smallmouth in and arround wood. The squarebill crankbait I used all day and was a killer on the goggle eye as well. Caught dozens of those again. Ned rig was good too. Biggest bass was a 14 in smallmouth so no big ones. Had an awesome day. Weather was perfect. Keep the reports coming boys!!!

I always look forward to your reports! Probably lost the gar because the hook didn't really get embedded in its mouth. Their jaws are so boney that it can be hard to get a hook to stick.
