conorsixtakc Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Was fortunate enough to meet a very nice young man yesterday. Conor and I fished N Buck from about 9:30 to noon yesterday and I think we had 22 keeps and a handful of shorts on the aforementioned wart pattern. WT was 69-71. Fish were scattered off gravel secondaries at 15' over 25-30 FOW. We had another boat insert itself into our loop early on but that happens occasionally - I'll take that as a compliment in this case. Tried casting for walleye later with no success but did pick up seven big whites on a stickbait - they were still fat with eggs. This morning fished two different pockets close to the house and had a limit of nice female crappie( except one) doing the same thing; the fish in the creeks were spawned out and toward the main lake they were ready to drop. Mike Mike - Can't thank you enough for the time on the water. My brother and I won't soon forget it. For anybody here that hasn't had the pleasure of meeting Mike, he's a standup guy and a hell of a fisherman. Hopefully this weekend wasnt the last time we get to fish together Also met a 30 pound blue later that night but she didn't seem as happy to meet me nomolites, Seth and finkle 3
Old plug Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Very nice catfish Connor. I have not fished or even been over in North Buck creek for several years. I used to fish there a lot. It is a real good Bass cove. White bass and everything used to run up in there. Just got to old I guess. That trolling with a wiggle wart or other crank bait is something they do here on the Gravois all summer long with a lot of success. You would think I would do it because I have two down rigger I can attach to the boat. Only thing I have done though is use them drifting with bait. That kind of bores me so I stopped.
nomolites Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 That is a nice blue; I suspect I know what she fell for...? MOsmallies 1
