The last couple of weeks I have been seeing more and more green slime in the dam area of the lake. Some areas seemed almost unfishable, due to the ball of green slime brought in with almost every cast. The pockets and backs of creeks seem to be the worst.

Beaver Lake has this also. Seems an algae bloom is coming.

Happens just about every year. It goes away when the water warms.

Sometimes you can get away from it by moving out off the bank a bit. I ran into some snotty areas last trip out and moved off the bank a bit to some deeper water and got out of it.

the slime dies, but still leaves behind the brown sludge. it is covering the bottom of the lake and has coated all the wood left.

Can be a pain to fish, but the fish are not bothered by it. Good time to swim something, wacky rig, swim the Ned, etc.

Increasingly, it seems there is no bad time (nor bad way) to fish the Ned. :)

A wacky worm is great in that scenario or Any plastic fished weightless. Just dont retrieve the bait, almost all ur bites will happen on the initial fall. If nothing in 20 sec. Shake and wait 20 more second. Reel in and clean off the snot. Just use as little weight as you can get away with.

Speaking of which.....dtrs if you made those heads in 1/32 or even 1/64 oz id buy hundreds of them.

There will very likely be a smaller size down the road. A lot of the grass lake folks want one.

The local reaction to anything remotely green in the lake is pretty funny to me, having grown up fishing with cows in the water, and water color on the order of coffee and cream. The rock snot freaks the fishermen out far more than it does the bass or the bait. Plenty of shad, craws, perch, all over the snotty places. If there is food, there will be bass there to feed.
