Definitely a nice job of fish handling. Thanks for sharing and pointing that out. Everyone needs to take a lesson here, especially the BASS Elite and FLW Tour pros who injure no telling how many fish with their devil-may-care handling of the creatures that make their living/careers.

Nothing good can come from holding a trophy fish vertical, shaking it at the camera and bellowing, "Git you some of this!"

I didn't say shaking and screaming loudly. There is no way holding a trophy fish or smaller fish verticle can hurt. The jaw is open but you are not twisting and and pulling the mouth and head sideways like a lot of anglers get mad at. C'MON MAN!

I saw where the winner was a 19yr old young man. Kudos to him! Glad to see it go to a young guy vs. someone who already has a boat. And didn't need one.

Check out what the Texas conservation has to say about this. I didn't believe it for a long time either until this year. Now I will add that according to them a fish of this weight can be held by the jaw safely assuming you aren't Ish Monroe. I think it was 7lbs and under but look it up yourself to be sure.
