OK, we've decided to run a separate battery for our Electronics. 2 Depth/ Fishfinders.

Do we run a Deep Cycle or a Starter Type Battery?

Thinking Deep Cycle since it can handle recharging better.

Other question is, if it is a starter battery, what size. Can we efficiently use one sized for a ride on lawnmower?

We're not sure what kind of a drain 2 FF will have on the battery, and want to cut down on weight of a 3rd battery if we can.

Thanks in Advance.

I guess I guess need to ask Why ?

I run 2 depth finders, a livewell, and a stereo off my cranking battery. Never had a problem.

I'd run a deep cycle. I hadn't thought about this until this year. I ran my battery dead once this year for the first time. I was sight fishing and had everything going which was unnecessary but nevertheless it showed me a fourth battery may not be a bad future option.

weight is an issue for me in my boat. I run my 2 graphs off of rechargeable AA batteries

can get 3-4 days use before recharging

just depends on how much power you need

these units I have are small, they require very little power to operate

Same here. I use an AGM 1150 cca so I have plenty of juice to run everything and crank my old Opti in the winter.

A deer feeder battery works well in my kayak.
