Members Chris Musick Posted May 28, 2015 Members Posted May 28, 2015 Finally get to go out on a boat tomorrow morn. Would love to come home w some WALLEYE, WHITE BASS, AND CRAPPIE. Where should I go? What should I bring lure wise for walleye and whites? Will most likely fish from 6 til noon.
PHhunter Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I would start at Stockton if you really wanted a chance at Walleye. I know they catch them on Table rock but you really have to know what you are doing.
Quillback Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 You are setting a high bar for yourself, at least as far as walleye and crappie. It's tough to hope to get into them on a half day trip if you're not familiar with where to go and what to use. If it was me, and I am far from being a walleye expert, I'd troll the gravel and rocky points up in the White river channel with some kind of crawler harness rig. That's my short answer to what can be a long and complicated subject. Muddy Water and Sac River Jim 2
Members Chris Musick Posted May 28, 2015 Author Members Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks for the info. I'm not too worried as far as Crappie goes. I know a place that has literally never failed me, and I've been out w friends a few times. But I've got a rookie boater taking me out and we were gonna see what damage we could cause haha. To the fish I mean of course.
rps Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Read this old thread and try it out. Travel .4 mph on long flats and gravel inside bends. Start at 9' deep and work your way out to 20' then back in then back out. flyrod17 and Sac River Jim 2
Ketchup Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Read this old thread and try it out. Travel .4 mph on long flats and gravel inside bends. Start at 9' deep and work your way out to 20' then back in then back out. This works. Were there twice last week and did as described and caught several short eyes, nothing with any size. flyrod17 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Roger Craig Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I caught a cpl walleye on Long Creek the other day, plus some nice whites that went shad crazy in front of me. And a nice channel.
abkeenan Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Whites were all over the dam area 2 weeks ago. Look for surface activity or even the seagulls. They will tell you where the big shad balls are and the white bass will be in around the bait.
abkeenan Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I caught about a 4lb white on a frickin' 10XD during the OBBT. Stupid thing tricked me into thinking I had a big brownie. Should have killed that dumb fish.
Members flyrod17 Posted May 29, 2015 Members Posted May 29, 2015 I didn't try for eyes last week but did find surfacing sandies/whites.....I did fish for crappie with no luck!! "I'm Haunted by Water"
