We actually used to fish "paper" state Federation tmts in Iowa, at least back in the mid 90's. Partner just verified the measurements.

Aside from that, the MLF story is pretty interesting. It is much more about selling the MLF product than anything else, with the anglers being let into the $ made from the show. It's a novel paradigm, with participants having a stake in the success of the programming. Go try to find out what the $ was for winning, or what the entry fees were.

Jason Christie was at a fishing show up this way this past winter and someone asked what the purses were for winning on the show and he zipped his lip and was very hush hush on it. Said he really couldn't say due to the contract they all signed. The guys that really benefit from it are Duckett's buddies that suck in the BASS and FLW series and suck it up on the show too. They get some face time.

I went digging into it after a conversation with a friend who was in the industry. He could not find any info on fees or payouts. What I found was a couple of articles that pointed to zero fees, zero payouts, participation by invitation (read as must be marketable, friend of Duckett and KVD, and if a Strike King pro so much the better), and some vaguely hinted at version of revenue sharing for the fishermen.

Doesn't stop me from enjoying the show one bit, but it is something to keep in mind before taking the format too seriously.

That is definitely strange and explains the annoying infomercialing that goes on. The should really let it sell itself better without trying to convince us how much better this or that part of it is constantly. It's a bass tournaments and had messing with sasquatch commercials for a while. That was enough for me to be interested. I still haven't subscribed yet. I bought an Apple TV though so I should so I could do the mirroring thing.

The years worth of online coverage is a pretty good deal if you go in with another buddy. Just can't watch at the same time.

So two or more can log in on different devices just not simultaneously?

Yessir.

Kicks the first person off if another logs in using the same account.

May have to pop on that down the road. Think there is a lot to be learned watching them fish, as opposed to just landing fish.

That's good to know. Thank you.
