dprice Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Pretty neat. Little bait. I'm still trying. One thing I need to improve immediately is hooking up! I was welcomed by a forum member. KETCHUP. He shared a hour of his time talking and telling me details to help learn this bait... I consider his help a real time saver. Not many out there that will show you the bait give details on how and where to throw it ...but Ketchup did next was Sac Jim. Not only did he help me pic my terminal tackle ... He took my order. Assembled the stuff. Then took me to the water for the lesson. How many manufacturers out there will sell to you and then give you a guided trip showing you the does and donts... But this fellow did ! My advice if I have any on this setup is Purchase a hook disgorged like I have. It will greatly protect fish on the hook removal. It is a great arsenal for every angler. It cost me $1.45. Attached is a photo. Sac River Jim 1 Dprice priceheatingair.com
Ketchup Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Good idea D. I have one of those, but never thought to put it in the boat. Ive always taken it when we shore fish. Good to hear your out there on the water learning. You've been around this long enough so not much new for ya. I just like to talk fishing, well huntin too. We will hook up and go catch some fish. As soon as Pomme clears from floating trees, we will take a trip over there. Lots of good bluffs, transitions that are usually productive. Ive got around 20 hours of boat use since i installed the recessed tray. It was a nice addition. Thanks again. Sac River Jim 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. Sac River Jim Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Dave on the table rock forum is the go to guy on learning how to fish the ned. hes taught me alot both by his posts and by pm;s. D as you get more familure and confident in it you wont have to worry as much about hooking them deep but there was a learning curve for me the first few times i thru it too. whether your throwing a ned or any other bait that old fashioned hook disgorged or anything similar is a very good idea to keep in the boat. Crap i deep hooked a small jaw the other day on an underspin with a 4,8'' kietech fatty swim bait on it, its just one the hazards we have to deal with i wish it never happens but it does to all of us now or later, D the pleasure was mine it wasnt about showing you a few things bout the ned it was about getting to fish with a buddy
