We have been having trouble finding keepers been bottom bouncing and jig and crawler. I have almost no experience trolling cranks. Out of five trips this year usually catch 5 to 8 fish per trip but have only had one keeper every trip although did loose a very good fish about 3 weeks ago. I am ready for it to get hot and stay hot.. I hate the heat but I can usually put more fish in the boat with those conditions.

I have a few Flicker Minnows Fly_Guy haven't developed much confidence in them yet, and keep forgetting to write down the dive curve on them so I lose them all the time. Just one of the many ignorant things I do!

Kdub, I buy the flicker shads at Cabelas for $3.99 regular price. I think that's pretty reasonable on a bait that catches fish. I lost nine of them one day though, and that kind of hurt.

That makes me laugh lmt out, I struggle catching walleye when it gets hot! I'm kind of a one trick pony, I troll. I read about guys catching limits on a jig and crawler in the summer, and I have no idea where to even start other than dropping a jig where I just caught one trolling.

Get after 'em guys. Hopefully I will be back at Stockton in a few weeks, some reports would be great in the mean time!

On the lake today, may have learned something shortly before the thunderstrorm.

I have always tried to troll along banks that were 3-5 feet deeper than the flickershads would run

that and the infamous Ned rig haven't worked the last couple of days.

Just to stay near the ramp, I started trolling up the gut of the cove, :have-a-nice-day: Three keeper bass a couple of slightly short walleye and a crappie all before the rain came.

Question for you trollers. I have been walleye fishing and trolling for 6-7 years now. On Stockton, i seldom catch bass trolling. I catch plenty of walleye, crappie, whites and even have caught more catfish trolling than I have bass. Trolling TR I do catch lots of Kentuckies. One of the few bass I have trolled up on Stockton was 6.5lbs but it was one of very few I have caught. Any ideas or is it just me?

It's you! LOL

I catch a ton of dinky bass trolling cranks in the summer. They are such a nuisance. I think I need to start using much larger crank baits come July or so.
