*T* Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Seeing these pictures make me wanna throw up. These are fish that will lay the eggs to my kids and his kids fish and so on. Champ you shouldn't apologize or be expected to for your comments that was the truth and people need to hear it. Thank you. Why would you not keep the cats and walleye? Why the bass? I am thankful that you C & Released that nice buck so that he could reproduce more bucks for my children and their children. Why would people not keep some other game for food? Why deer? Sorry, had to go there. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci

Why would people not keep some other game for food? Why deer? Sorry, had to go there. Don't be sorry. I manage my deer herd. Unlike a a public lake like table rock. You can say the numbers of deer in mo is way higher then that of bass in table rock correct. Your very welcome if it wasn't for me managing these deer the way I do. Such as kill x amount of does these diseases such as cwd would kill all of our deer herd so neither of our kids would be able to enjoy the sport. When I harvest a deer and know I can't or won't be able to eat that animal I can donate my to a program called share the harvest. I'd like to know the amount of bass taken for table rock thrown away each year. Just a thought.
Iclass Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I'm misunderstanding again...you're saying the number of deer per square mile in Mo is greater than the number of bass in TR per square mile?

There's more whitetail deer in the state of missouri. Then there are bass in table rock. I wasn't clear on that. I apologize

Codywskeeter1521 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Lets just make this simple. Iclass I pass deer every year young bucks young does ect. I only harvest the deer that will help my deer herd. The deer pictured was past his prime at 8 years old he didn't have any teeth and probably had more issues then we know. So in turn I did that deer a favor. I have a list I put together each year for up and comers that will be the same as this buck from last year. What good does keeping 15 in bass or even a 6 lber out of the lake do? Can u deside that fish doesn't do the fish population any good? Do u know that fish wouldn't spawn? I hunt my deer to help grow my population unlike these people who go out and kill #s and young deer. Let's just get that straight. But then again this is my opinion on how it should be done and I'm sure there's some that disagree with how I do it.
Codywskeeter1521 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 One last point you think the deer and car collisions are bad now? Just think about if we didn't manage the herd. I don't know about you but I'm not in the business to pay deductibles every year . What the worst that can happen with not keeping bass me and my boy go out and enjoy more catching of keepers?
Iclass Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I don't have an opinion on your deer herd, other than wondering how it became "your" deer herd, I couldn't care less...my opinion is there are many more bass in TR than deer in Mo. Just wondering where/how you got your numbers. Just based on simple reproduction rates, deer have 1-3 babies and bass have 2,000-40,000. There also may be a reason you can keep more bass per day than number of deer you can kill per year.
